Yesterday, I had the most wonderful visit with a family member whom I rarely see. I probably see her once a year for 3-4 hours at most. As awful as this sounds I never even talk to her on the phone. The only time we get is that once a year visit she makes from the other side of the world to see her children. From the moment she saw me she kisses, hugs, and loves on me like I am her favorite person in the world. Boasting aside, she looks into my eyes with acceptance, joy, and love. She tells me how proud she is of me, and how much I mean to her. She holds me as if she were to let go I might fall apart. When she does finally let go, she grabs me again and we just sit hugging one another and smiling. My heart is over-flowing with joy, I can’t stop smiling. We exchange words, we share and catch up on how life has been. And she says phrases to me like “this is how life is isn’t it?” Like yes, this life in this world is hard, but it’s okay. I melt in her presence I feel like there is nothing I could do to disappoint her, or anger her. She loves me, no matter what.
This woman’s love towards me has been like this ever since I could remember as a young girl. She loves me, just because I’m me! Praise God for people like her. I want you to know that right now, Jesus loves you and can’t stop smiling at the thought of you. He delights in who He knows you are, blessed! Not how you see yourself, thank God for that! There is a verse in Psalms 118, v1 that says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;for His mercy and loving-kindness endure for ever!” (Amplified Version) You know when I look up the word endure in my Strong’s dictionary to get the fullness of what God wants us to know about His love for us, I found the following.
God’s love abides in us, bears us up courageously, is patient, waits for us, carries us, and holds us up never down! And did you know God’s word says He does this for us FOREVER? He doesn’t say just for today, or just until you blow your temper, or you’ll get my love when I’m good and ready. No, He says forever, and He means it. Hold your hands out and say I’ll take your love, and I’ll take it forever! Once God’s love enters your heart you will know what true love is all about! Let me leave you with this question to seek out with God. While God stands before you pouring His love into you, are you receiving it? Can you tell by looking at the fruits in your life on whether God’s love is manifested in your life? It’s never too late to accept your free gift, and after you receive God’s love wait, watch and listen as He begins to transform your life into Victory!
